Job Description: Under minimum supervision, operate Class II Drinking water plant and Industrial Wastewater Plant, plus operate a non-potable extraction and filter plant for boiler use, plus Class S wastewater plant. Will be responsible for process control, compliant operation of water and wastewater plants including record keeping. Make periodic checks of all equipment and make minor repairs and adjustments as appropriate to ensure continuity of operation. Operate natural gas, oil fired steam boilers on plant in a safe manner consistent with accepted operating procedures for industry. Operate boiler feed water treatment systems, and blowdown treatment systems. Maintain all necessary records and paperwork. Candidate must be flexible in accepting additional duties as assigned by supervision. Shift work and Overtime will be required. The utility operator in this position will be responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping at the water, wastewater and/or boiler plants and working directly with the maintenance department to keep all equipment operating properly. This operator will be responsible for helping train and instruct other utility operators in the proper operation of equipment and systems.
