Plan the machining operations and sequences required to machine a variety of cutting tools, and component parts of overall designs. Make difficult calculations involving geometry and trigonometry and lay out reference lines on material. Set up, operate and adjust a variety of machine tools and attachments to make, alter, and repair parts of overall designs and single tools and gauges requiring considerable ingenuity and improvising to accomplish difficult; machining operations to exacting tolerances and finishes. May make special fixtures for holding, positioning and clamping material and tack weld items together to facilitate machining. Assist Tool, Die and Gauge Maker in assembling, fitting and aligning complete tools, jigs, and fixtures. Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition. Make proper time charge entries and record data as required. Perform other work of equal or lower classification as required. This is a union position. High School Diploma or equivalent GED. A minimum of 10 years experience in tool fabrication in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of 10 years with interpreting blueprints, sketches, manufacturing instructions and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). A minimum of 10 years with CNC machine code, MDI and manual machining. A minimum of 10 years with measuring instruments such as indicators, calipers, micrometers, bore micrometers, height gages, thread gauges and other hand tools. US citizenship is required.
